Uroflowmetry systems measure the quantity of urine excreted over a specified period, also known as the urine flow rate. These systems continuously record urine flow using a cylinder and a transducer that weighs the urine entering the cylinder during voiding, plotting the flow rate over time. Common time intervals include minutes and seconds. Changes in urine flow rate can indicate kidney, prostate, or other renal issues. By measuring urine flow, we can evaluate how long it takes for a person to start urinating, the strength of the urine stream, the total volume expelled, and the duration of the urination process.
