What is Intracorporeal Lithotripter
Intracorporeal lithotripter is a Urology Equipment, used for the disintegration of urinary bladder stone, ureteric stone and renal calculi.
It works on the principle of a hammer jack -a small metal bullet is made to oscillate within a highly polished cylinder, the hand piece - at controlled pulses with the help of compressed air or oxygen. The bullet in turn hits a rigid probe, which causes a mechanical breakdown of the metal thus sending a pressure wave to pass though it and facilitates the breaking of the stone.
